About us
Walser Eisenbahn GmbH (WEG) with headquarters in Vienna was founded in 2000 by Prignitzer Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft mbH (PEG) for purposes of localised railway passenger transport activities in Austria. Following the acquisition of PEG Group by Arriva / Netineria, all shares in the company went to its General Manager Dipl. Ing. Ulrich Dietrich in October 2011. W. COMBI CARGO Transportlogistik GmbH is the owner since July 2019 of Walser Eisenbahn GmbH.
The Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) awarded the company the licence for goods and passenger transport in March 2015. In late 2015, the accredited certification company Quality Austria successfully audited the safety management system (SMS). In May 2016, the BMVIT issued the safety certificate, and the company started its operative business with a focus on the east-west axis Eastern Europe-Switzerland and Eastern Europe-Passau/Salzburg, respectively.
